We found this restaurant during a layover in London. My husband was craving Indian food and the Paddington neighborhood is easy to get to on the express train from Heathrow.… read more It was everything we wanted! We sampled the menu and all dishes were perfectly spiced, the sauces sharp and fresh. The lamb tikka was complex and meltingly tender, and all the sides and naan were excellent. It is on a nice little block that is worth a visit. The setting is a simple restaurant where they treat you truly like family — maybe better than family. Zain and Ravi were especially helpful, and even went above and beyond to help us with a travel crisis we were having (lost phone, impending flight …) We will never forget their generosity. If you need great Indian food surrounded by truly lovely people, very reasonably priced in a homey spot, this is your place! Thank you Zain and especially thank you Ravi!!!
We stayed for a long weekend in London and have had dinner in Mughal’s two times. Good food, honest prices and good service (special attention to Ravi).

I booked this restaurant for myself and 2 colleagues given its reviews and proximity to Paddington station. When you first walk in the decor is not what was expected but… read more more than made up for by the food and service – both of which were very good.
We had a selection of starters and main courses, accompanied with Roti’s and Rice. There was no pressure to hurry and the food was very reasonably priced and tasty.
I would definitely visit again. I scored it as Very Good – not because of the quality of the food or service but purely because of the decor and ambiance which needs a little more TLC but nonetheless it was a most enjoyable evening.
Excellent Indian food and wonderful service. It was next to our hotel and I am very glad that we lucked out and wandered in. I’m vegetarian and my friend is… read more not but we both had a good choice of delicious courses. Check it out if you are in the neighborhood
Have had far far more better Indians than this one and the back room is in a very poor condition for a restaurant. Butter Chicken had a bit of a… read more kick to it and chicken pieces were hard and seemed to be processed being they were all the same size. Good quality Mushroom Bahji but nan bread was very tiny compared to others. The onion with the poppadom was slightly discoloured suggesting it had been standing around. Plates not the hottest as the meal went cold before we finished. Tables very small so had to pile serving dishes on top of each other to make room Sorry won’t be returning, not the worse but not the best
We recommand the Dal Tadka! It is a good place for vegetarians… The service is very friendly and makes you feel home.
We stopped in for a quick dinner after a long day of touring and thoroughly enjoyed our dinner. We had vegetable samosas, lamb pasanda, lamb tikka with curry sauce and… read more cheese naan. My favorite was the lamb pasanda and it was my first time having it. Similar to a korma sauce but richer. I’ve seen comments about the staff not being friendly, but that wasn’t our experience at all — they couldn’t have been nicer! Free wifi, too, was a bonus for us as tourists.
My husband Jeremy and me very much enjoyed our meal at this restaurant, the food is brilliant and we also had a drink each.
The team who work there pleasant,… read more efficient and friendly
Also a good location
The restaurant is reasonably priced
Very good service. The flavors were much better than other Indian restaurants I have tried in London.
The staff were super friendly and welcoming

We have stayed in the same hotel in Paddington several times and can’t believe this Restaurant was on our doorstep, 5 min from our hotel. It was amazing. Food and… read more service were 5* and so reasonable, same price we pay for our local in Somerset, unbelievable for London. Portions were plenty and came very quickly, piping hot.
Our go to now when we next visit.
Very good Indian food. Fresh and delicious. I recommend it. It’s always full of people. Don’t miss it.

Very dirty and tired environment. Food very average or below average. The starters were lukewarm and the chicken madras very bland and not spicy. The paneer korai was better but… read more still just average overall. We sat at the back and the walls are absolutely filthy and the carpets are disgusting. Would not recommend to anyone and won’t be going back.
I was only in London for one night and wanted an early Indian dinner. My hotel recommended Mughals which was just down the block. They said it gets busy but… read more I was early and had no problem getting a table for one.
The food was delicious. Service was excellent. I would definitely go back the next time I am in London.
Like cattle customers were packed into the back of the restaurant, with exactly 30cm separating the tables. It was as if we were all celebrating a farewell party for the same friend.

This was our first experience here and it will certainly be the last.I have never had the displeasure of sampling such hard Lamb at any Indian Restaurant in my life…did not know lamb could be cooked and served so hard and tasteless.I am used to eating perfectly slow cooked lamb that melts in your mouth, here you could loose a tooth trying to eat through it.
My brother’s chicken was acceptable in taste but lacking enough chicken to actually call it a full portion.
The cheese naan was not as expected, just a naan with grated,in melted cheese over it.
The onion Baji was really over cooked inside and found to be dry and tasteless.
The drinks came already poured which I personally do not like, would have liked a can or bottle of coke instead.
The pilau rice was good,no complains here.
Very disappointed and will not return.
P.s
I come from a place which is 4 square miles big and we have over 5 Indian restaurants and takeaways, every single one would beat this place anytime ten times over.
We were fortunate to have dinner at Mughal’s, which was located close to our Paddington hotel. We went quite early so the place was not too crowded. We were not… read more sure what to order so decided on the dinner for 2. Service seemed slow at first but when the food arrived, we realized that it was all made from scratch and absolutely delicious. We thoroughly enjoyed the wonderful appetizers and varied main courses. I’ve eaten here on my own many times. It’s always busy & the staff are excellent, so friendly & helpful. Yes, the decor could probably do with an overhaul but expect higher prices to match!
It’s clean & at the back there are notices to say that work is starting imminent. As another reviewer stated if you have mobility issues you may want to avoid. The toilet stairs are extra steep & could be an issue. But the food is great & I have also visited when not on business and my husband and I are in the area.
A great Indian restaurant in Paddington, London.
The food is really great. All the dishes we ordered were just fantastic, especially we loved the kebab and the potato balls… read more that one can dip in a great mint sauce. For main dish we ordered a spicy lamb and chicken tikka, they were both delicious.
Atmosphere in the restaurant was great and the quality of service was extraordinary. Ravi, from the local team, advised us about the dishes and all with smile and patience !
Prices are fair and bottom line it is great value for money.
We will probably visit there soon
Portion was small and pricey with 10% service charged on top. Okay it’s Paddington so £40 for 2 (small) biryanis, a naan and 2 soft drinks is maybe the going… read more price.
The restaurant is tatty inside, paint missing on walls, dirty old ceiling tiles. In need of a good clean and refurb. Smells damp in the back. Had chicken biryani, it was not what a proper Indian biryani should be. It looked and tasted like a mildly spiced rice with some chicken breast chunks added. Would definitely not go back. Good thing is the location but there are lots of other restaurants arond.

The staff were also super friendly and helpful, despite being very busy on the night we ate here. The Balti and Korma dishes were great.
